Conversation with a Tree.

solo treeTrees that stand alone,

Of all ages and types.

Whisper to me,

And remind me to breathe,

With perspective anew.

Silent and strong,

Unwavering against the wind,

Trying to bend and break.

Reaching up to the sky,

And the gracious sun.

Thankful to be.

Do trees speak to you?

  1. Thank you for such a beautiful poem. Yes, trees speak to me…they all convey their own energy and emotions. There are the wise ones, the young spirited ones, and the trees that shimmer joyfully in the wind, just to name a few:-) All trees are happy to be just what they are…and all are reaching up toward their Creator.

    • Thanks so much for your note and kind words. I am glad you enjoyed it. I have pictures and paintings of trees in almost every room now that I think of it. They make me still, which is a hard thing to do. 🙂

  2. Hey, I’m sorry I’ve been MIA from your site this past week or so. What a lovely tribute to a tree! I had a massive one outside my window for the 29 years I’ve lived in my garret, but Hurricane Sandy uprooted it last October. We didn’t talk, but I truly loved that tree. It was quite a comforting presence. Right now, there’s a million tree planting project going on here in NYC. My beloved tree may never be replaced, but I just saw a freshly planted sapling around the corner from where I live. That gives me hope.

  3. beautiful poem 🙂 I like to think that the trees whisper to me when the wind blows through their leaves. Ever since the trees came alive in the Lord of the Rings my imagination runs wild! lol How is your mom adjusting? And you? I’ve been thinking about both of you…
