Out of the Blue …

swirlMade it out of the blue and the brown … not a drop of brown or blue paint can be found on this latest funky painting.

As far as being out of the blue … ever have ideas come to you out of the blue?

My best ideas for writing usually come to me in the shower.  And therein lies the problem, as I am usually far away from my computer or notepad and clearly soaking wet. And then there’s something about stepping over that shower threshold after a shower that sometimes wipes my memory bank clean.

I decided to turn to my trusty Amazon in search of a solution — or of the discovery that a solution didn’t exist and my goldmine of an invention (a waterproof notepad) awaited.  Not surprisingly, I  found a nifty waterproof notepad and pencil set which sticks onto the shower wall so that I can capture ideas before they are lost. It’s absolutely genius.  I love it.

Where to you get your best ideas?  Any tricks for remembering them later?aquanote

  1. Twice in the last two weeks, I’ve woken from a dream and grabbed my notepad and pen and jotted down the bare bones of the dream knowing that in the morning it will be wiped from my mind the minute I wake up. But I’m definitely going to have to get myself that waterproof notebook! LOL it’s a lot better than writing on the shower screen with a waterproof pen 🙂

  2. I get inspiration when I’m not looking for inspiration. The watched pot of inspiration never boils. Good ideas come during activities like taking a shower because it is a non-thinking activity, so the thinking mind and the judging mind (the worst culprit) are turned off and the creative mind is free to come up with ideas.

  3. A waterproof notepad.. genius.. my brain cells have been on vacation lately and have not written anything publish worthy in ages.. hoping a real vacay next month will recharge the creative juices!

  4. My best moments, strangely enough are when I am at work when I have the least time to actually write let alone think and when I am driving to work with music playing in the background, the worst moments 😦
