From within or from behind, a light shines through us upon things, and makes us aware that we are nothing, but the light is all.
– Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)
I took this photo last night from my friend’s back patio. Just looking at it again – even as a photo – makes me breathe easier.
Just as the setting of the sun helps birds all over the world to find their way, that same sunset can clear the way for what the new day holds for each of us.
When was the last time you watched the sunset?
Magnificent. So much beauty all around us, if only we paused long enough to notice…
That’s some view from the back patio. Sometimes, I notice the sun setting when I’m walking home from shopping at my dog-eat-dog market, Fairway. I cannot say I’m feeling very philosophical at those times, but I am grateful to have gotten out of there alive.
That’s how I feel after an Ikea trip.
Beautiful picture…peaceful 🙂
🙂
Peaceful is the best way to describe it. Thanks!
My uncle and his wife watch the sunset together every night. They’ve done this for years – I mean like 30 or more. No matter where they are – whether home or on vacation – they drive to a spot and either sit in their car or get out and find a place to land in nature. I think it is a lovely tradition.
What a smart tradition, in so many ways.
There is nothing quite like the majesty of mountains on the horizon (particularly if you hail from the flatlands). Thank you for sharing your beautiful photo.
Absolutely, dear Hydro.
Dusk is my favorite part of the day.
One of mine too. Something cleansing and peaceful about it.
Sunrises and sunsets are among my favorite things. I never tire of their infinite patterns and beauty
I completely agree. I never tire of them either…
Beautiful picture.. sunset are so lovely!
I agree…
I absolutely love the sunset and try to catch it every day 😉
