Sunset Reset.

sunsetFrom within or from behind, a light shines through us upon things, and makes us aware that we are nothing,  but the light is all.
– Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)

I took this photo last night from my friend’s back patio.  Just looking at it again – even as a photo – makes me breathe easier.

Just as the setting of the sun helps birds all over the world to find their way, that same sunset can clear the way for what the new day holds for each of us.

When was the last time you watched the sunset?

  1. That’s some view from the back patio. Sometimes, I notice the sun setting when I’m walking home from shopping at my dog-eat-dog market, Fairway. I cannot say I’m feeling very philosophical at those times, but I am grateful to have gotten out of there alive.

  2. My uncle and his wife watch the sunset together every night. They’ve done this for years – I mean like 30 or more. No matter where they are – whether home or on vacation – they drive to a spot and either sit in their car or get out and find a place to land in nature. I think it is a lovely tradition.

  3. There is nothing quite like the majesty of mountains on the horizon (particularly if you hail from the flatlands). Thank you for sharing your beautiful photo.
