Today I’m grateful that I came across this great quote:
Peace.
It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise.
It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

Life as a sandwich generation x’er, stacked with irony. As a ‘normal’ person peering out from the boundaries of suburbia, as a transplant from another state, maybe another planet. As a mother of teenage boys and freelance working writer balancing parenting with helping to care for my mother. And now as an only child of a mother with Alzheimer’s (which sucks).

Oh, that is so true. I know this from experience. In trying to repair my health and my marriage, I asked for peace. All I got was more turmoil. I finally discovered that peace wasn’t about the external conditions of my life, but my internal acceptance of life, of me, and what had to be.
Absolutely. So very true, but so hard to remember.
